Breaking Down Walls

Watch the video to see how I trained Vanessa to face her fear head on & knock it down.  All this was to prepare her for the Mud Run she was planning on doing.

All that hard work paid off.  Vanessa earned that Mud Run medal.  She broke down that wall.   She said it was really hard but not nearly as hard as not doing it.  

She said her “I ams” got her through the race.  “I am focused”, “I am doing this”, “I am ready”, “I am breaking down the wall”.  Vanessa learned that her mind is stronger than her body.

Her mind broke down that wall.  

Elliana’s Pancakes

Ingredients:

2 cups oats  

1 small carton egg whites  

2 ripe bananas

1 tsp vanilla  

Option to add chocolate chips, blueberries, nuts or whatever else you want to mix in.

coconut oil to grease griddle 

Mix ingredients in a blender until well blended.

Grease griddle with coconut oil & when hot pour batter onto griddle. 

When bubbles appear on top of pancake flip it over.  

Top with maple syrup, agave nectar or fresh fruit. 

Enjoy!

Muffins!

I gave up muffins while shedding 80lbs but now they are back in my life thanks to this delish product!  

20g  of protein in a muffin?!  

Come in several flavors but this one is my favorite!

Warning: 

HIIT leads to an incredible high.... 

New Yorkers love their pot.  It's everywhere. In school bathrooms, subways, sidewalks, porch stoops, parks, the river, privacy of apartments.  You can't walk down a street not smelling pot. 

Its no wonder given the lifestyle.   

I have seen my own clients get high on a daily basis.  I get high on a daily basis.  We get a HIIT once a day of our own endorphins.  Best high ever.

It also goes the opposite way for me.  Not working out makes me very depressed.  It's my pot & Prozac all rolled into one HIIT.  

Brush Your Teeth

Make fitness a habit just like brushing your teeth.  

Do you stop brushing your teeth just because you're on vacation?  No!  Do you stop brushing your teeth when life throws curve balls at you? No!   

My goal for all clients is they won't feel good when they skip workouts or indulge too much. 

When I first started on my weight loss journey I was shocked when my trainer had me workout on vacation!  My family was not happy, but we all did it together.  

We do HIIT in small hotel rooms, try out boutique gyms where we vacation, run outdoors enjoying new scenery, and workout on the beach or by the pool.  Sometimes we wake up and want nothing to do with exercising on vacation but we do it anyway.  Other times we indulge too much and feel so gross when we wake up that we can't wait to sweat it out.   

Now it's just part of our routine no matter where we are or what's going on in our life.  

If I don't get my workout I get the same gross fuzzy feeling in my mind and body that my teeth get when I don't brush them.

 It's now officially a habit. Even if I wanted to I'd never be able to go back to my old way of living.

 Thank God.

A client sent this to me while she was on vacation. True success story! 

Salmon for Idiots

I avoid cooking salmon since it never seems to come out good.   

This recipe is super easy & delish!  Even my daughter who claims to hate salmon eats it! 

 

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Place large piece of foil on cookie sheet

Place salmon on foil

Sprinkle salt, pepper & garlic

Place lemon slices on top of salmon

Cover salmon with foil

Bake for about 20-25 min till flakey

 

Cauliflower Rice  (buy prepackaged cauliflower "rice" )

Heat wok on high  

Add coconut oil to coat wok

Add cauliflower

Sprinkle with salt, pepper, cilantro

Stir fry till brown

 

Serve the cauliflower rice with the salmon & you have a balanced meal of healthy fat, protein & carbs!
